My story
I was born in Greater Manchester before moving to North Wales as a child. Growing up in the majestic splendor of Snowdonia set my love of the natural world early on and it is from this that I draw my main sources of inspiration.
After completing my Fine Art degree and teacher training in Cardiff I headed south to Cornwall, chasing the sea and the waves and the light, and the warmth!
I taught for a number of years before moving into roles in education technology. I managed to mostly ignore the small voice asking to be an artist for two decades but it steadily grew more insistent.
In 2021 I embarked on an MA in illustration with Falmouth University and after four bedraggled years of working and dealing with the tail end of Covid and other life pressures I finally graduated with distinction in December 2025.
By now I found myself living in Devon although hiraeth (or hireth in Kernewek) draws me back regularly to the Cornish coast and moorland, and one day I hope for good!
In early 2026 I took the plunge and gave up my safe and secure job to properly enter the art arena and now I’m a practicing professional artist! Eeek!
